We told you about our team helping a world-class chocolate factory fix up its new headquarters, right? Guess what, we’re not the only ones talking about it!
We’re elated to say our work with Bissinger’s Chocolatiers is featured in the September/October 2016 issue of SprayFoam Magazine! Swipe over to page 76 to read the behind-the-scenes’ story of how we laid the spray for Bissinger’s new-to-them 220,000+ square foot home in the Warehouse District. Our connection with Musick Construction helped open the door to meet with Bissinger’s and we could tell it would be a good challenge.
The architects were ready to suggest that Bissinger’s use batt insulation for climate control, but it was Musick Construction that introduced the idea of spray foam. After hours of conversation in meetings with Bissinger’s, we convinced them of the value of spray foam. They asked our team many good questions, including how spray foam performed in different energy value ratings. We submitted an accurate bid and met a 90-day timeline with some creative scheduling.
We installed FOAM-LOK 2000 closed-cell spray polyurethane foam from Lapolla Industries at a three-inch thickness rating. The spray foam needed to be coated with an FDA-approved fire retardant coating. Our installation crew applied Lapolla’s Fire-Lok intumescent coating at 30 mils DFT. We’d love to tell you more about transforming an old train depot into a chocolatier’s home, but we think SprayFoam Magazine did a great job.
